WPPI Discounts

I generally don’t post much about discounts. Most sales are obvious, and you are probably well aware of the ongoing manufacturer discounts that seem to now be a permanent monthly rotating cycle of products on discount. That said, Nikon and the other companies don’t always make this obvious. For instance, on Nikon’s site under “Deals” you’ll often find “multiple promotions available,” but trying to figure out exactly what they are might take detective work.

I learned last week of a discount I hadn’t been aware of at this site’s exclusive advertiser, plus this week B&H is also offering special WPPI show discounts (WPPI is the wedding and portrait photography convention going on this week in Las Vegas). So I thought perhaps it might be a good time to write something, should you be looking for a camera at the moment.

Let’s take the WPPI discounts for example. You might be tempted to ignore them because, well, you’re not a wedding or portrait photographer. However, those pros use the same gear you do, and things like cards, SSDs, tripods, flash units, and yes, cameras and lenses, are all on sale. To see what’s available, just click on the following banner [advertiser link]:

Meanwhile, in that “multiple promotions” category, I’ll use the Nikon Z8 as an example, for instance. NikonUSA offers up that “multiple promotions” moniker on their site. Which turns out to mean that the body only variant is US$200 off, while if you buy it with the 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR lens, you get another US$200 off with the combo.

Meanwhile, if you know the right search term at B&H [advertiser link] and you get this:

When you’re presented offers this way, these B&H offers stack (note the menu at the left under “instant savings”). There are similar ones for the Z6 II and Z7 II, as well.

It’s gotten near impossible for me to keep up with all the changing offers. I’m not sure you want me spending all my time reporting each new change. But I did note that there are some very good buying options right now, and they’re mostly centered around the current “big show” happening in Vegas; thus this brief article.

As always, I appreciate your support of this site by purchasing anything from this site’s exclusive advertiser. But don’t feel bad if you don’t order something from B&H; this site is doing well without running a constant maze of advertising you have to hop around.
