Complete F5 Guide
Errata Page

The following are the known errata for the First Edition of the book as of 8/7/2005.

Clarification: In my haste to get the Ninth battery info into the book, I didn't notice that the Web site I reference doesn't sell adapters. You can roll your own, though: see http://users.vianet.ca/~mjrobert/battery.htm.

CSM #21: My wording is incorrect. Instead of "press," substitute "press and hold" in the descriptions. Unlike some later bodies that can be set to maintain the lock after you've released the button, the F5 does not allow that. Also: remove the comment about Self Timer user--this trick doesn't work with the F5, though it does work my current Nikon body when the approriate CSM is set.

Photo Secretary is no longer available new, and older copies are difficult to find. Nikon no longer supports it, though I've managed to make it work on Windows XP machines (you do need a serial port, which is getting more difficult to find). A partial solution that solves the data transfer problem is the MV-1, which was designed to work with the F6 but can also be utilized with an F5 or F100.
